How to set up AC97 front panel on Palit N68S / N520A

Symptom

Since Palit N68S / N520A equipped with HD audio CODEC, users might find the front audio doesn’t work because their chassis adopts AC97 front audio daughter board.

Solution

1. Enter Integrated Peripherals in BIOS.



2. Set HD Audio option to “AC97” in BIOS (This option is available in N68S / N520A).
3. Plug your front panel audio cable to on board front audio connector (F_Audio1) according to the following pin definition.



4. Install Audio Driver in Windows XP
5. Double click the icon of Realtek HD Audio Manager



6. In Mixer page, press “Next Page” till “Mic Volume” and “Rear Pink In” is shown as the photo.



7. Enable “Mic Volume” and “Rear Pink In” and set the volume to the maximum.



8. Press OK to quit.
