How to set up AC97 front panel in Windows Operation System

Symptom

Since Palit motherboard equipped with HD audio CODEC, users might find the front audio doesn’t work because their chassis adopts AC97 front audio daughter board.

Solution

1. Plug your front panel audio cable to on board front audio connector (F_Audio1) according to the following pin definition.



2. Install Audio Driver in Windows.
3. Double click the icon of Realtek HD Audio Manager.



4. In Audio I/O page, press “Connector Setting”.



5. In Connector Setting page, select “v” on “Disable front panel jack detection” and then press OK to quit.



6. In Mixer page, press “Next Page” till “Mic Volume” and “Rear Pink In” is shown as the photo.



7. Enable “Mic Volume” and “Rear Pink In” and set the volume to the maximum.



8. Press OK to quit.
